Unfortunately, we cannot arrange early check-ins as we will need time to prepare your room. However, if you arrive after 12pm, you can store your luggage in your room while the room is undergoing cleaning.

Unfortunately, we cannot arrange late check-outs as cleaning needs to start at 11am for the next guest. However, guests can use our complimentary hotel lockers to store their luggage after check-out. Our hotel staff will inform you which locker you can use at the time of check-in. But due to the limited number of lockers we have available, we cannot guarantee all of your luggage can be stored if our lockers are full.

If you arrive after 12pm, we can arrange to store your luggage in your room as long as you do not mind the room will be undergoing cleaning at that time. If you arrive before 12pm, we recommend our guests to use the coin lockers at Karasuma Oike Station which is just a short walk from our hotel.

We do not have parking available at the hotel but there are coin-operated car parking lots available near our hotel. Locations of the car parking lots will be emailed to you shortly after your reservation is confirmed.

Yes, we have washing machine and dryer available at our hotel common area. Guests are welcome to use them at free of charge.

Full housekeeping service is provided every 2nd day. We understand that some guests prefer not to have cleaning staff enter their machiya house during their stay. Please let us know if housekeeping service is not required and we will respect your privacy and will provide you with fresh towels if needed.

Yes, we welcome guests with babies and/or toddlers. However, please note that our KOKYU Machiya House cannot accommodate children under 6 years old as some features inside the hoes may not be suitable for small children. All of our other machiya houses at our hotels are child-friendly.

Our hotel does not have natural hot spring on site as our location is situated in the centre of Kyoto city and there is no hot spring supply underground near our hotel.

Yes, we are located only 8 mins walk from Karasuma Oike Station on the subway line which is the main transportation used for sightseeing in Kyoto and directly connected to JR Kyoto Station. Our hotel area is surrounded by many local restaurants and cafes. We are also within walking distance to famous areas such as Nishiki Market, Nijo Castle, Shijo Shopping District and etc.

We do not have a full kitchen inside the machiya house. However, we do have a fridge, microwave, utensils, plates and cups available.
